Media content

Design guidelinesLast updated: Apr 19, 2024

Accessibility

  • Make sure that your multimedia content is available for people with hearing and vision impairments.
  • Provide subtitles or transcriptions for video and audio content.
  • All media content should have an alternative text marking for voice assistance.

Pictures

Aligning image resolutions is necessary because different screens have different pixel densities and could display images of the same resolution differently. To increase the resolution of an image, multiply the number of pixels in each image by a specific scaling factor.

Icons

  • An effective icon is an element that helps users understand the meaning of information at a glance.
  • To enhance the quality of displayed images, use only icons in the SVG format.

Media content testing

Always test images on real devices. An image that looks great during the design process may become pixelated, stretched, or shrunk when viewed on different devices.
