Monetization

The Semrush App Center provides different monetization options for your app:

• Free app
• Freemium app
• Paid app

You can combine these options with in-app purchases.

Freemium and paid apps can have a trial version.

Payments

Your app doesn't need to implement payment processing logic. All these operations are handled on the Semrush App Center side.

The App Center also provides methods in JS SDK using which your app can offer users:

• To purchase access to the app or get a trial
• To purchase an in-app or get a trial of the in-app

During development, you must test the app or in-app purchasing using test purchases.

User information

App Center can provide information about the user subscription to the app in three different ways:

• In the JWT passed to the app iframe URL as query parameter.
• In the JWT as a response to the getAccessToken method of JS SDK.
• As a response to the ViewerStatus request of Server-to-server API.

You can pick the method suitable for your app based on your app's features.

Email reports

The App Center can send users email reports in the following formats:

• Custom email reports: Template with changeable parts that can contain the data you'd like to share with the users. This option gives you a lot of flexibility, but requires planning and development on your side, as well as on the Semrush side. Learn how to implement custom email reports ›

You can't use both simplified and custom email reports in one app. Choose the format that's best for you and your users.

Support

When your app becomes a part of the App Center, Semrush provides full support for your app that includes:

• Collecting and sharing user feedback.
• Monitoring the app's uptime.
• Advertising the app.
• Sharing business metrics.
