Forums can be a powerful tool for community development, but can also turn into an instant brand reputation destroyer. Obviously, nobody wants to learn the hard way.

So, we’ve decided to give you a hand with using social listening and make sure you’re aware of all conversations around your brand that take place on discussion sites.

With this update, you can now track mentions of a specific topic on forums like Reddit, and question-and-answer websites like Quora using the Brand Monitoring tool. This could be your brand, an industry term or a trend you’re interested in.

The latest feature can be extremely useful for PR specialists or anyone involved in brand reputation management, as well as for content creators to track their content performance and see how people react to it.

How Can You Track Mentions on Forums with Brand Monitoring?

Go to your Brand Monitoring or set it up, and open the ‘Mentions’ tab, where all your mentions are collected.

Click on the Mentions selector on the top left and select ‘Forums’. You’ll now have a list of your mentions on discussion and question-and-answer websites.

You can filter your results by:

  • Date
  • Sentiment

The ‘Overview’ tab if changed to ‘Forum’ filter will provide you with general data on your mentions on forums, while the ‘Statistics’ tab lets you visualize your mention volume trend and helps you find the top forums discussing your topic.

Now you’re good to go and see what people are saying about you! Let us know if you’d like to track any other resources in Brand Monitoring or share your ideas, comments and suggestions by emailing us at bm@semrush.com.
