What will you be tested on?
- Lesson 1The basics of SEO content
You'll need to show that you have an understanding of what SEO content is, and what's involved in creating it. You will also be asked to identify what key factors should be focused on in order to improve your SEO strategy.
- Lesson 2What is E-A-T and how important is it?
You can expect questions to focus on what E-A-T stands for, and what the basic principles of this concept are. You'll also need to demonstrate an understanding of the effect content breadth and width have on your SEO strategy and be able to explain what Your Money or Your Life (YMYL) queries are.
- Lesson 3Why content is important for SEO
You'll need to demonstrate an awareness of the importance of content creation. You will be asked how the volume of published content can affect online visibility, and you'll need to know and explain why user needs are vital to your digital marketing campaigns.
- Lesson 4How users' needs impact content depth
You will be asked to explain how user needs can affect the type of content needed on your website. You'll be expected to show that you understand the relationship between user query and ‘true' user needs, and how this fits within the context of UX (User Experience) in your SEO strategy.
- Lesson 5The basics of links and PageRank
You can expect to be asked about the mechanics and strategies involved in creating links and how this relates to PageRank. You will need to demonstrate an awareness of the relationship between link relevance and delivering quality content as part of a defined content strategy.
- Lesson 6The evolution of SEO ranking factors
You'll be asked questions about different link strategies and how these can improve your rankings. You will also need to show that you're aware of the various signals Google uses to assess content quality.
- Lesson 7Backlink analysis
You will need to demonstrate that you know how to conduct backlink analysis using SEMrush. You will be asked how to research competitor backlinks, and how to develop a content strategy using this to improve your own content and drive quality backlinks of your own.
- Lesson 8Link relevance
You'll be expected to show that you can recognize what content is link worthy - and why. You can expect questions to ask about which types of links are best, and which should be avoided. Finally, you'll need to show an understanding of why link relevance is so important to your SEO strategy.
- Lesson 9The power of informational content
You will need to show that you know what is meant by ‘informational content', and to identify the benefits of taking this approach. You'll need to demonstrate an understanding of how content can affect page speed and display an awareness of the basics of an ‘added value' mindset and how this can be incorporated into your content strategy.
- Lesson 10Content hubs vs. blogs
You will need to be able to explain the difference between content hubs and blogs. You'll also be expected to be able to identify the best places to publish your content. Finally, you'll need to demonstrate an understanding of the impact of categorized tag pages and how search engines prioritize information for ranking and indexing content.
